Service Description

Saddened by the sight of thousands of Christmas trees dumped by the road in early January Amsterdam, storyteller Nancy Wiltink came up with the idea for the ‘Tijdelijk Kerstbomenbos’ (Temporary Christmas Tree Forest). Three years later, a small but growing number of Amsterdammers collect their tree from the forest mid December, only to bring it back in January for a year of good care. Traditions are rooted in natural wisdom and grow over time. All year round, Nancy will tell you about Dutch traditions and invite you to add the best of your culture’s traditions to the collection of stories hung in the trees. Take a look around the forest to compose your own mix and match of celebrations.
