In the Westerpark, on the premises of the Westergasfabriek, you will find De Bakkerswinkel (Bakery shop), a café with excellent savoury and sweet bakes made on the spot. If the weather's nice, why not take out their picknick set and make some Dutch friends in the park? De Bakkerwinkel has made this easy for you with their 'Feed the Dutch' picknick set. Their carpenter has created a unique wooden picknick case which transforms into a little table once you’ve found a nice place in the grass. It includes a parasol, blanket and a banner saying GRATIS BROODJES (free sandwiches). In addition to sandwiches, your case will contain scones with clotted cream and jam, water, juice and brownies. Look around, choose a few locals who look worth meeting, and invite them to your picknick. The price is per person, you can order for as many people as you wish. Don’t be shy, most Dutch don’t bite!
